Proposal Development and Preparation Assistance

Guide PIs in budget creation, formatting and sponsor compliance; provide tools and templates to strengthen proposals.

Proposal Cycle

  • Timeline consideration
    • This allows for proper internal review of documents prior to submission.
  • Intent to Submit form
    • This initiates the proposal development process and coordination with assigned Sponsored Projects staff.
    • A solicitation summary will be provided by your Grants and Contracts Administrator (GCA) upon receipt of the Intent to Submit form.
  • Proposal Authorization Record (PAR)
    • This begins the internal proposal record which will be used for circulate for required internal approvals prior to submission. (formerly known as PeopleSoft signature pages). Either your grant support personnel in the department can assist or your assigned GCA.
  • New sponsor set-up request
    • If the sponsor is not currently listed in the PeopleSoft system when entering the PAR data, please submit this form with the relevant information and the new Sponsor will be added to the PS system. 
  • iThenticate plagiarism screening
    • This is to request access to a powerful plagiarism tool used by publishers and funding agencies worldwide. 
  • Investigator form
    • This form collects essential information about individuals involved in research to help ORI and the COI Office ensure the University meets sponsor requirements, regulations, and institutional policies.
