UMKC offers a range of training opportunities and outreach events to help faculty, researchers, and departmental staff stay informed, competitive, and connected in the research funding landscape.

Federal Agency Training Opportunities

Take advantage of regularly updated resources and training events from major federal sponsors:

Faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in federal webinars, town halls, and program officer Q&A sessions to stay current on funding priorities and proposal requirements.

Regional Foundation Engagement

UMKC collaborates with Kansas City–area and regional foundations to share information about funding opportunities and proposal strategies. Events may include:

  • Foundation briefings on funding priorities

  • Roundtable discussions with foundation staff

  • Networking opportunities for researchers and community partners

UMKC-Led Training and Workshops

UMKC regularly hosts workshops and informational sessions to support researchers and administrators, including:

  • Proposal preparation and budget development

  • Compliance requirements and internal approval processes

  • Training for new investigators and departmental research staff

  • Scheduled events and trainings will be located here in the near future
