Barbara serves as as Assistant Director in the Research Compliance unit within UMKC’s Office of Research & Innovation. In addition to providing support to the Director of Research Administration on various strategic initiatives, she also provides support to the university’s Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), and Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC). In these roles, she helps ensure that research activities comply with federal regulations, sponsor requirements, and institutional policies. Barbara works closely with faculty, staff, and students to facilitate protocol review, provide training, and promote ethical research practices.
