Melissa serves as a Research Compliance Manager within UMKC’s Office of Research & Innovation, supporting the university’s Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), and Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC). In this role, she helps ensure that research activities comply with federal regulations, sponsor requirements, and institutional policies. Melissa works closely with faculty, staff, and students to facilitate protocol review, provide training, and promote ethical research practices.
